Here are some practical tips to help you stay worry-free and focused on the race events throughout the weekend.
Please note that bringing food or alcohol into the COTA circuit is officially prohibited, with the exception of one drink bottle per person (up to 0.6 litres).
However, entrance checkers tend to be more lenient on Fridays and Saturdays, so you might be able to bring in small refreshments. Be aware that if detected, these items could be confiscated. On Sunday, enforcement is typically stricter.
Inside the circuit, there are numerous stalls and food trucks, mainly offering typical American fast food such as burgers, chicken wings, and fries.

Before heading to the circuit, ensure you have all the necessary information saved on your phone, including tickets, maps, and details about your favourite driver. Mobile networks might be overloaded at the circuit, especially on Sundays, which can result in limited data connectivity. This means you may not be able to contact your friends via phone. To avoid this issue, arrange a meeting time and place in advance, similar to how it was done before mobile phones.
Don't forget that motorsport is very noisy. While the noise is tolerable in the normal stands, make sure you wear earplugs if you're closer to the track. If you're travelling with children, make sure they have ear protectors.
In March, when the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas takes place in Austin, the city typically enjoys pleasant early spring weather, creating a comfortable atmosphere for visitors. Average daytime temperatures usually range from 68°F to 73°F (20°C to 23°C), while nighttime and early morning lows are around 50°F to 54°F (10°C to 12°C). Compared to April, conditions are slightly cooler, but still generally mild and enjoyable.
Rainfall in March is moderate, with average monthly totals of around 2 to 3 inches (50–75 mm). Passing showers can occur, and occasional thunderstorms are possible, though they are typically less frequent than later in spring. It’s advisable to bring a light rain jacket or poncho in case of brief rain.
Humidity levels are usually comfortable, and with increasing daylight hours and regular sunshine, March offers favorable conditions for outdoor activities and race spectators.
